RELEX Solutions operates offices across Europe, North America, and Asia. As the company expanded its U.S. presence, it established its Atlanta office as a hub for collaboration while embracing a flexible hybrid work model.
With approximately 2,500 employees globally and about 340 employees in the United States, the Atlanta office supports cross-functional hybrid teams. One unique element of the workplace is its dog-friendly policy, where employees can bring their dogs to the office on designated days.
To support both hybrid coordination and day-to-day workplace operations, RELEX implemented Maptician to give employees visibility into who will be in the office, where they can sit, and how to reserve the spaces they need—helping ensure every in-office day is intentional and productive.
When Hybrid Work Creates Coordination Challenges
Like many organizations adapting to hybrid work, RELEX faced a new challenge: employees did not always know who would be in the office before commuting in. As a result, some employees arrived to find few colleagues present, making collaboration difficult.
Office administrators also spent valuable time answering questions about workspace availability, including:
- Who is in the office today?
- Where is my team sitting?
- Is this conference room available?
- Can I reserve a desk near my colleagues?
Managing meeting rooms also created friction. Without a visible reservation system, employees sometimes occupied conference rooms without knowing whether the space had already been booked.
“Before Maptician, people would come to me asking who had a conference room reserved or whether they could use it,” said Jae Scott, Office and Onboarding Coordinator at RELEX. “Now they can check it themselves and book it instantly.”
Giving Employees Visibility Into the Workplace
RELEX implemented Maptician to provide a centralized platform where employees can plan their time in the office more effectively.

“All of our employees use it every day,” said Scott. “They pre-book their desk, reserve conference rooms, and can see where people will be sitting.”
This visibility helps employees decide which days to come into the office based on when colleagues will be present. Teams can also sit near each other when collaboration is needed.
The platform also plays an important role in onboarding. New hires are introduced to Maptician early so they can easily locate their team members and reserve desks nearby during their first days in the office.
Keeping a Dog-Friendly Workplace Organized
RELEX also uses Maptician to help coordinate its dog-friendly office policy. Because the office limits the number of dogs allowed each day and designates specific days when pets are permitted, visibility is important.
Each registered dog is set up as a user within the system, allowing employees to reserve space for both themselves and their pets when booking a desk.
“We have our dogs set up as users in Maptician,” Scott explained. “When someone books their desk, they also book a space for their dog.”
This approach helps keep the policy organized while allowing employees to plan their office days accordingly.
